Menstrual & Hormonal Disorders

Irregular, heavy or painful periods, PCOS and hormonal imbalance - properly investigated, not managed by guesswork.

Overview

What This Covers

Period problems are among the most common reasons women see a gynaecologist, and among the most commonly dismissed. Pain that keeps you home, bleeding that soaks through in an hour, cycles that vanish for months - none of that is something to simply live with.

Dr. Rohma Butt investigates before she treats: a careful history, examination, and targeted tests to find whether the cause is hormonal (PCOS, thyroid, perimenopause), structural (fibroids, polyps), or something else. Treatment is then matched to the cause and to your own priorities - whether that is symptom relief, regulating cycles, or protecting future fertility.

What to Expect

  1. 1

    Tell the story

Your cycle history matters - dates, flow, pain, and how it affects your life. A period-tracking app record, if you keep one, is genuinely useful.

  2. 2

    Examination and tests

Where blood tests or a scan are needed, they are done at a nearby facility and reviewed with you at follow-up.

  3. 3

    A treatment matched to you

Options are explained with their pros and cons - lifestyle, medication, hormonal treatment or referral - and the decision stays yours.
